Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic, odorless and tasteless gas produced by the incomplete combustion of gasoline, kerosene, natural gas, butane, propane, heating oil, wood, coal and other fossil fuels. Dangerous levels of CO can be produced by internal combustion engines or any poorly ventilated or improperly adjusted fuel-burning appliance. Exposure to CO can cause illness, headaches and even death.
This carbon monoxide detector can save a pilot's life, especially when flying with the heater on, by alerting you to the presence of CO in the cockpit - the point will turn grey/black when CO is in the air. The dot on the sensor returns to its normal color when exposed to fresh air.
You can use this CO-DETECTOR as a personal and portable CO detection device. With adhesive on the back, stick it to the panel or dashboard for semi-permanent mounting, or put it on your badge or lanyard. Unopened CO detectors have a shelf life of 3 years as indicated on the packaging. Out of the box, the CO-Detector will last 12 months.
Applications include:
Planes
Cars
Fuel trucks
Grass cutting equipment
Tugs
Campers
And more!
NOTE: The detector will be damaged by the presence of halogens (iodine, chlorine, bromine), ammonia and nitrogen gases. Do not use near diesel engines. Harsh, direct sunlight will tend to whiten the pointer site and shorten the life
